A memorable day for we Elysians at the Maj. Dhyanchand Hockey tournament… At the BHA stadium. Our school girls played well, but unfortunately ended runners-up. Quarter finals beat Guru Nanak High School for 3-1 in penalties. Semi finals beat Mary Immaculate High School for 2-0. Finals lost to Carmel of Joseph 0-1.

But two consecutive days playing Nehru cup at Kandivali… And playing three matches post Nehru cup took its toll so finals gave a walkover to match against M.M.K. College.  “But my students fought till the very end. Very proud of their performance,” said coach Sheldon Fernandes.
Also, St. Elias beat St. Andrews junior college 1-0, in the Nehru cup hockey tournament. Rutika Jadhav scored the winning goal. A fantastic victory by St. Elias high school. in the semi finals of the Nehru cup suburbs tournament, beating Durelo convent, Bandra. Full time 0-0. Sudden death 4-3.

The team is captained by Rutika  Jadhav,  promising  vice-captain Siddhika Bacche . Apart from the duo, the performance of dynamic forwards Sneha and Pallavi,   midfilder Nisha and Sejal were the key for the well played game. “We have undergone rigorous training sessions, which have improved our game and helped us to perform as a unit against top teams,” said the girls. The team  is very excited and confident to face any future tuff opponents and we hope to start off on a good note with a victory.

With a series of consecutive matches with maximum victories foretells the bright future of Elysian champs in hockey.
