The children of pre- primary celebrated the free spirit of India’s 70th independence day with great enthusiasm and joy on 14th August 2017.
The programme began by welcoming Fr. Austin and Sr. Philomena with a Nehru cap and the Indian flag. While the patriotic song, Vande Mataram was being played, a display of our tricolor design was being done by the kids with a Chakra in the centre.
To commemorate the sovereignty, the tiny tots were dressed in the attire of national leaders. The kids were given an opportunity to speak about the leader they were representing.
Indeed it was a day of joy to experience. Later father explained the significance of this day to the kids. He taught them the song- “hum honge kamiyab” and came to an end by saying “Jay hind”.
Certificates were presented to the winners and all participants were given story books. The programme thus came to an end with the National anthem.
