Teacher Rekha’s farewell on her retirement started at 8.30 a.m. on the 30th of March 2019.Teacher Rekha along with our Manager Fr. Austin Norris and a few senior teachers marched to the dias with the accompaniment of the school band. Then the guard of honour from the RSP squad saluted her. Tr. Rekha took her seat and the programme proceeded. Fr. Austin addressed Tr. Rekha and recollected the events down memory lane. He appreciated and praised her for serving in the school for the past 30 years. Father thanked her for working diligently and whole-heartedly. He commented on her vibrant personality and versatile nature. Father greeted her and presented her with a shawl, while Sister gave her floral tribute and a greeting card.
After that our students of Class 7 danced gracefully to the Hindi film songs of yesteryears to entertain all of us. Then our principal Sr. Philomena Sequeira spoke about Tr. Rekha being a dedicated and sincere teacher. She was an excellent Physical Training and Hindi, Marathi teacher. Sister bid her farewell by saying she would miss her tasty delicacies. Next our young artists from Class 7 entertained her by a Rap song, which was appreciated by her. Finally Tr.Rekha herself addressed the audience and touched everyone’s heart. She gave wonderful tips to our students on discipline, punctuality, hard work etc. In order to progress in life she thanked the management, teaching and non-teaching staff and the students for their presence in making her life so joyful and meaningful. She concluded by saying that she would miss school and carry on her life as God shows the way. This session was over at 9.30.a.m.
The next session began at 11.30 a.m. with the presence of the Pre-primary staff , the primary and the secondary staff of the school. A short programme was held by the Secondary staff to entertain her and the programme ended with a sumptuous meal at 2.00 p.m. and a photo session by the staff members , which concluded at 2.30 p.m .
