It has been a tradition at St. Elias high school to celebrate Teacher’s day in myriad ways and in keeping with that Teacher’s Day 2019 was indeed novel.
It being a holiday on the 5th of September, we celebrated the same on Saturday, the 7th of September with an absolutely elaborate fellowship buffet meal at Global fusion, that food haven at Linking Road.
The meal satiated and a game of housie added to the excitement.
School reopened on Monday, the 9th of September and did we have a pleasant surprise awaiting us! Our Principal had organised the morning assembly which was so holistic, so all encompassing. It celebrated along with Teacher’s day, festivals as Birthday of Mother Mary, Muharram and Ganesh Utsav, thus we celebrated the diversity of India and our thriftiness in time well exhibited.
All these festivals importance were well blended with the Teacher’s day assembly.
At the end of the assembly teachers enjoyed games wearing fancy eye masks. All this was telecasted live to the students during the initial two periods, making all students a part of the celebration.
It was two days well spent and the teachers were richer with the experience and their gifts too.!
