World Population Day is observed globally on 11th July every year. This day is observed to raise awareness among people about the impact of a growing population and issues including gender equality, the importance of family planning, poverty, maternal health, human rights, etc. An assembly for our students was prepared by the intern B.Ed teacher from St. Teresa’s institute and the same was conducted in the class by the respective class teachers. The assembly included a pray, a hymn and an informative video on ‘ World Population Day ‘. The video included a lot of information regarding how the increase in population can have adverse effects on human life and also ways to reduce population. Various competitions were conducted standard wise among the students. The following are the competitions held standard wise:

Std 5th & 6th – World Population Day (Slogans)

Std 7th & 8th – Population Problem in India (Essay writing)

Std 9th & 10th – Population Overgrowth (Essay writing)

The competitions were judged by the respective class teachers. The winners of the competitions will be felicitated with certificates for their achievement. We concluded the day by thanking the B.Ed teachers for preparing the assembly, the teachers to conduct the assembly, conduct the competitions and also judge the competitions. Last but not the least we also thank all our students for actively participating in the various competitions held on this day.
