Independence Day Celebration
The independence day was celebrated in the school with patriotic fervour. The celebration started with the welcoming of the chief guest’s, along with the the Manager Rev. Fr Austin Norris and the Principal Sister Philomena Seqeira. The chief guest’s of this year’s independence day programme were the parents of the SSC topper of our school Master Tirupati Kushnapalli. The chief guest’s were escorted to the accompaniment of the school band. Mr. Kushnapalli then hoisted the Tricolor. The national anthem was echoed in the entire school with great enthusiasm. As this day is also celebrated as the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady there was a short prayer service. After the prayer service there was a patriotic dance put up by the students of the school. In the short speech given by Master Tirupati, he urged the students of the present SSC batch to bring honor and pride to the school with their hard work and determination. The Manager and the Principal in their speech reminded all those present-Teachers, Parents and Students of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and take a pledge that we would serve our motherland with our dignified deeds. At the end of the programme the students were distributed sweets.
