Shivaji Jayanti celebration

Shivaji Jayanti is celebrated on 19th February every year, as it is the birthday of Shivaji Maharaj who was the founder of Maratha kingdom. This occassion was celebrated in our school with all students (virtually) under the guidance of our teachers, our Principal Rev. Sr. Philomena Sequeira and our Manager Rev. Fr. Austin Norris. An assembly was conducted by class teachers in their respective classes which included a prayer, a motivational song and an inspiring speech about Shivaji Maharaj. The students also participated in the activities which were conducted by the teachers. Students of standard 5th and 6th were told to dress up like Shivaji Maharaj, Jija Mata, Mavalas etc., click a picture of themselves and send it to their class teachers. While the students of standard 7th to 9th were told to make a video and speak few lines on Shivaji Maharaj in their own words or sing the powadas which were sang by the Mavalas. A video was also prepared by Mrs. Anjena D’silva teacher which gave the students a clear information about the occasion. This is occasion celebrated, specially in schools to remind our students about Shivaji Maharaj and his bravery and indeed we as teachers were successful in doing so.
